saber: to know a fact, to know something thoroughly, to know how to do something
conocer: to be acquainted with a person, place, or thing

Saber vs Conocer
saber: to know (facts, information, how to do something, something by heart)
conocer: to know (to be familiar with people, places, things)

    I notice native speakers use conocer when talking about meeting other people en vez de usando encontrar

    Encontrar is like when you meet somebody somewhere. For example, let's meet (see each other) at Starbucks.

    Conocer is when you know a person for the first time
